Campfire animation
My internship at Kweekvijver Noord started with an interview. After having the interview I got a call that they wanted me to work with them.
They also wanted me to do some animation work to showcase where my skills were at. So after this call I got to work and made this animation.
Swimmer animation
After having worked on the Campfire animation I had confidence to make something a little bit more complicated.
I was instructed to use a lot of tutorials and courses to help better my animation skills. This animation was used to improve my character animation skills.
MINDBLOWING
After my first day intergrating myself into the companies workflow I got my first assignment. Eelke (an intern) and me got the assignment to make a product shoot and intergrate animation into the video.
We came up with the idea to shoot a video of Eelke’s guitar and I would animate over it. This is my first time having worked with a green screen so that was very exciting.
Day of the Mother Tongue
After having finished my first project and working a little on my internship report I got my first client assignment. My intern supervisor came to me with the project to make a short animation for the Day of the Mother Tongue.
I made the entire animation myself. First I created a concept and some sketches and after having it approved I got to work.
OR Dokterszorg animation
For this animation I actually got to meet up with the client. My two supervisors and I went to the client to get information about the animation they wanted. I got full control for the animation even down to the voice over.
The client wanted to keep the animation simple and wanted me to use the characters they already had in use. The characters were very badly made so I had to recreate them as best as I could.
The voice over is made by me with my own voice.
OR ODG animation
After a successful animation and happy client I got assigned a similair animation for a different company. This company didn’t have any characters or other assets I should use, this means I made this entire animation down to the illustations.
I also got complete control for thisanimation which was very fun.
Day Against Racism
This is another short animation for Biblionet. In this one I got to challenge myself immensely. I had complete creative control for this one as usual. I decided to challenge myself by making a walking character. This was insanely hard but I am quite proud of the end product.
The message was also a challenge to decide because this is a very broad topic to cover. I created the assets myself.
Big Maths day
This animation was directed at children. The Big Maths Day is a day where children celebrate math with a fun themed day. This year the theme was recycling.
I looked around for information about this day and found a couple of graphics that resembled a robot that children had made. I replicated their art style by making a funny robot animation that was drawn by hand in combination with digital drawing.
World Book Day
Animating this animation was a very fun progress. This is a concept made in collaboration with Job my supervisor. I got full control on the animation per usual. I had a very fun time looking for a way to animate a book that has a pop up picture come out of it.
In the end I am very proud of this animation as it was a challenge to create it and I have learned a lot of new techniques creating it.
Dodenherdenking animation
The 4th of May is a day in the Netherlands where we remember all the fallen victims to the 2nd world war. For this animation I got full control in what I could create. To show my respect I wanted to make something calm and soft.
On this day people hang their flag halfmast and that inspired me to create an animation where you see the flag going half-mast as a sign of respect and rememberance.
Annie M.G. Schmidt Dag
This is an animation in honor of the amazingly talented Annie M.G. Schmidt, whom created our childhood using her widely ranged children books.
The concept for this animation was a challenge since I was not allowed to use the drawings made by Fiep Westendorp. Having my original concept scrapped I had to get creative which gave me a fun challenge. The end result is a subtle but honorable animation for Annie M.G. Schmidt day.
70th Anniversary Biblionet
Using 3D in Adobe Illustrator is something I had never used so this was a new learning experience for me. This animation is for the 70th anniversary of Biblionet.
I made the balloons that fly in in their colors and kept the animation short and sweet because I find that it makes the animation look more playful.
SMI Groep Leader
The client had received an animation they did not find compatible with their company image. I was asked to create an animation that represents their company to the best of my abilities.
I had received a couple of examples they had liked. After doing some research on their company and their image I created a short leader. The client had told my supervisor they really liked how it turned out and that I fully captured what their company represents.
The Key to Space
Creating this was a challening experience. I had made this animation with the help of a tutorial. This made me aware on how to use anticipation and a variation of other animation principles.
The end product makes me insanely happy because I can see how much progress I have made since the beginning of my internship.
Make Magic
I made this animation right after making the Key to Space. After having learned a lot about the various principles I was ready to tackle animating with arcs.
I had a lot of fun making this because for me it represents having fun in animating.
